Sebastien Wellesley, 22, born in Paris and raised across multiple countries, developed a passion for technology early on. From building his own PC to learning skills like FTP and C++, his interest quickly evolved towards artificial intelligence and machine learning. Sebastien's upbringing and technical understanding have inspired him to innovate and drive change through technology, aiming to leverage technology to solve complex problems and contribute positively to society.
Hi, I'm Sebastien. I am a technology enthusiast with a particular passion for understanding and learning machine learning systems to improve societal functions. With a studies in both general sciences as well as marketing, I am driven to provide solutions to businesses and consumers alike using the potential of technology to create sustainable and innovative solutions for complex problems. My journey is motivated by a commitment to learning up to date models whilst aiming to refine my skills in a way that aligns with my values and professional aspirations.
I aspire to contribute to a technologically driven society by focusing on building value on products, driving the adoption of services, and  automating business and societal processes. Through the strategic application of information technologies, I aim to facilitate significant advancements to businesses that not only improve efficiency but also enhance the quality of life. My goal is to be at the forefront of the machine learning era, making a tangible and positive impact on the world.
A Bachelor of Information provides the foundational knowledge and practical skills necessary to excel in the digital age. This degree emphasizes on interactions between information technologies and social worlds, which is crucial for developing and building value on innovative solutions to today’s challenges. I believe this program will equip me with a robust toolkit to build my career at the forefront of this technological era, enabling me to lead and innovate in a data-driven environment.
In the BI program, I plan to take electives that align with my interests in artificial intelligence and machine learning. These courses will provide me with specialized knowledge and skills in areas critical to my career aspirations. By focusing on these electives, I intend to deepen my expertise and enhance my ability to contribute to future AI projects.
My project experiences, while still in the early stages, have provided valuable opportunities to explore and apply foundational technical skills. I have experimented with setting up game servers, where I applied my understanding of FTP and C++ to manage operations and integrate simple advertising solutions. These projects were crucial in building my initial coding skills and understanding of digital systems. Additionally, I contributed to a small project that aimed to use AI for analyzing images taken at rapid intervals. This was a great introduction to the practical challenges and the potential of AI technology. Each project, whilst modest in scope, has been a stepping stone in my learning journey, motivating me and enhancing my technical abilities as well as my understanding of collaborative work.
As I look forward to a Bachelor of Information program, I am eager to expand upon my current foundation as well as to gain more advanced techniques and skills to use later on in my career. I'm excited to contribute to more technology-driven projects in the future, and I hope to meet like minded individuals whilst taking this program. After all, that's what university is all about!
